The Quraishi family has developed longstanding skills, knowledge and love for making jewellery. As far back as the time of Hindustan, the Quraishis had designed and made the jewellery for the Moguls. Saeed Quraishi, graduate economist, inherited the skill and mastered the jewellery-trade within the family business in Saudi Arabia, and then he furthered his education in Switzerland. On 25 October 1995, he won first prize in the “jewellery design“ category at the competition organised under the auspices of the GOLD CONCILE in GCC. Among other prizes, the prominent one which he won under the name of his family business Gold Craft was awarded in 1995 by the American Army, on which occasion he had the opportunity to meet the former First Lady of the United States and the current Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ms Hillary Rotham Clinton.
In 1993, he met a Bosnian lady Lejla Šarkić and, after the wedding, he came to Sarajevo in 1996. Wishing to make his contribution and share his knowledge with others, they established a gold jewellery company “Quraishi“ Ltd. After the war, they cooperated with the SFOR and UN multinational divisions and diplomatic corps. In 2003, their first private shop was opened in the UNITIC Ltd. business centre. Since the Quraishi name justified the expectations of clients and due to different offer and good quality of their products, and as it had become a recognisable brand, the need was felt for one more shop to be opened and, as of 2009, the “Quraishi“ Ltd. may also be visited in the BBI centre.
